Reimagining SECIA & Racial Equity Work Group
The Reimagining SECIA & Racial Equity Work Group helps lead the ongoing work of implementing SECIA’s 2022 Equitable Engagement Plan (table and narrative). The group meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 6:30, currently via Zoom. All are welcome! To learn more, contact Jessica at [email protected].
The Como Cares team is jumping into meaningful work – there’s still many opportunities to be part of the change. This emerging team has goals which include responding to our neighbors in need, strengthening relationships between neighbors, building a network of support.
We welcome participation in any capacity – if you’re interested, please reach out to Jessica at [email protected].

Other Recent Work
From January-July 2021, our Social Justice Study Club, co-led by SECIA Board member and staff, aimed to broaden ideas of social justice and explore change in the context of our SE Como Community. The group met monthly to learn more about, consider neighborhood impacts and possible action steps addressing a range of social justice topics, such as LGBTQ+ advocacy, implicit racial bias, age and racial equity intersectionality, and practicing allyship. If you are possibly interested in co-leading a renewed similar initiative, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]
