Welcome new students and existing neighbors! Click here to get to know more about the Southeast Como Neighborhood.

Live or work in SE Como? YOU can run for the SECIA Board! The SECIA Board of Directors is responsible for the overall policy, direction, and work of the organization, and reports its activities to the community at its regular monthly meetings. It’s a great opportunity to serve your neighborhood community and get involved in neighborhood issues or projects you care most about. Email [email protected] if interested or want to learn more.

Join a Committee
Committees at SECIA work on different areas of neighborhood improvement. There are currently three active committees: The Environment Committee (collaborates with 5 different neighborhood community gardens), Land Use & Development Committee, and the Reimagining SECIA & Equitable Engagement Work Group. Anyone is welcome to get involved with any of these groups. Find meeting times and learn more here.

Reimagining SECIA & Racial Equity Work Group
Join the Reimagining SECIA & Racial Equity Work Group to continue to develop and implement a plan for better serving our community. This committee meets monthly. More details can be found here.

Community Project Night
Each month SECIA hosts a meeting to bring together community members to plan future projects, community events and initiatives. This space can be used to pitch new ideas for projects and work with neighbors on existing projects. Community project night is currently the third Tuesday of each month. Find the meeting links and more on our calendar at http://secomo.org/calendar

Como Cares
There are one-time opportunities to get involved such as attending a drop-in day to support sheltered neighbors or attending a workshop. Long term opportunities include attending regular planning meetings and reaching out to local organizations. We also welcome new projects, so please reach out if you have an idea of your own.
